Nineteen of the Russian's 21 victories have been achieved on hard courts
A resurgent Daniil Medvedev won his initial title for nearly 30 months with a win over Corentin Moutet in the tournament title decider.
The athlete, a ex- world number one, has experienced a challenging year, winning just a single victory at the Grand Slams and suffering a difficult moment at the US Open.
Medvedev's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his serving in particular - resulted in him dropping out of the elite rankings and ultimately separating with former mentor Cervara.
Now working with Johansson and his other coach, Medvedev has steadily improved in the past month - peaking in a tightly fought competitive win over Frenchman Moutet.
It is his maiden title following the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hardcourt since spring of 2023.
Success also indicates he has secured twenty-one victories at 21 different events.
"This marks the first occasion I have attended a event with my two daughters together, so to secure a trophy is especially meaningful," commented ranked player Medvedev.
"This championship is in tribute of my younger daughter Victoria, because the initial championship I won when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."
Medvedev, the former major winner, had been defeated in his last six championship matches, featuring in that event earlier this year.
Medvedev's retrieving play style and frequent emotional displays on court had prompted some to doubt if his capacity to compete at the elite level was finished.
Yet the player has made changes in the past month, striving to approach the net and compete aggressively, reinforced by an improved serve.
The champion fought back from a deficit in the first set against the difficult opponent, winning four of the last five points to take the lead.
The pair exchanged service breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, striving for his initial ATP Tour title, took control to create a third set.
Moutet saved 4 initial opportunities in a competitive deciding set before Medvedev secured a break to fifteen to close out the victory.
Fittingly, Medvedev secured victory with a shot at the front of the court, with the Frenchman incapable to control a return after a lengthy match.
