It's a challenge for the Australian squad to achieve unprecedented feats.

The greatest achievements have already been conquered.

This is the team that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, plus six more T20 titles, and earlier maintained over three years unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, targeted by the achievement hunters, are the only things left for a team that has achieved everything.

That it took up to Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase over 300, reclaiming their record for the biggest in the women's 50-over format, is, in truth, a compliment to the pitchers that have worn canary yellow over the last half-century.

It's challenging for their batters to maintain a record if not afforded the chance.

In the end, the consequence of Australia conceding 330 was captain Alyssa Healy receiving a chance to create her latest masterpiece.

Then best known as the 19-year-old niece of celebrated previous Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she first played in 2010 after her nation couldn't capture either of the T20 or ODI World Cups held the previous year and has seen it all through 15 championship-filled years since.

A T20 championship victory happened three months after her debut and seven international trophies have come from 10 efforts across formats.

The tough gloveman was in attendance in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final defeat by India briefly halted the successful run.

That loss "motivated us to reconsider our benchmarks," Healy said this week.

At the subsequent ODI World Cup in New Zealand, Healy scored 170 against England in the final and was named player of the tournament. She made sure her country would not fall short again.

If this latest epic knock surpassed that earlier display can be debated.

Many contend the argument supporting championship match pressure. Some might respond with the test that comes when confronting a historic chase and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What's clear is this century was considerably tougher to predict.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 occurred when she was the highest scorer, but this performance followed six innings in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had failed to pass 30.

"If you've observed me in the nets, it's been a frustrating experience because I feel like my form was missing at all," stated Healy.

"Yet the moment you enter the playing area, your competitive nature activate and you just lock into the contest."

Healy's competitive nature has continuously been her great strength - and an irreplaceable characteristic in taking over from famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's promising player Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, dismissed by the 22-year-old seamer in each encounter, but on this occasion it simply offered Healy's motivation.

One run resulted off Gaud's first delivery and from there the right-hander was on her way.

"The possibility to take the field and lock in a contest with her and simply enjoy myself that way, sort of got me going," stated Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 balls - her fastest at the World Cup - and her ton in 84 balls as she flogged anything short, scoring 21 fours and three sixes.

By the time she was dismissed her side needed 66 additional runs at one run per ball - a manageable total now demanding an easy conclusion.

"Chasing 330 runs is new territory so I'm happy we have the assurance to accomplish that now," added Healy.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to repeat it but, should it happen, we know we can succeed."

Those words will be the final thing rival teams at this World Cup should hear.

During the last week a sense they will succeed regardless of circumstances has grown stronger - this victory coming after victory over Pakistan by 107 run margin despite being 76-7 at one stage.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before a match against longtime competitors England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final berth may well be secure.

It was in the semi-finals they left the prior year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - a game Healy was absent due to damaged tissue in her foot as she led her country for the first time at a significant event.

So strong is her resolve, she afterwards commented she wished she had played despite the injury.

But while she later admitted those fitness problems have postponed consideration of ending her career, this tournament is likely to be her final tournament as skipper in one-day cricket and she is hasn't yet secured a global event as leader.

Success in India would bring her to the top of her final mountain.
